PCB mount transformers are through-hole, chassis-free mains transformers that solder directly to the board, providing galvanic isolation and voltage step-down for the primary circuit. The current range spans 0.35 to 55 VA on EE and EI cores, in single- and double-bobbin construction, across the EE20, EI30, EI38, EI42, EI48, EI54, EI60, and EI66 sub-series — with the withdrawn EI78, EI84, and EI96 series reaching 220 VA still documented for designs already using them. Every winding runs from a single 230 V primary and offers 4 to 24 V secondaries, single or dual. Bobbins are available in standard, eared (K/KK), or VL flying-lead cover styles, so the same electrical winding can be specified to match board clearance and mounting-hole layout. Because the part solders directly to the board, footprint and pin spacing are as much a selection criterion as VA rating and turns ratio.

Insulation

Insulation and impregnation are specified as air, oven-dried varnish, polyurethane coating, or epoxy potting, selected to the unit's environmental exposure and required creepage and clearance.

These are 230 V mains transformers. There is no 115 V primary in the standard range, so a 120 V design needs a custom wind — which is normal business here, not an exception. Send us the input voltage you are designing to and we will confirm the winding.

224 of the part numbers above are discontinued and cannot be ordered. Their pages and datasheets stay published for anyone maintaining an existing design, and each one lists the active parts it can be requoted against where the range still reaches that rating.
